DELF A1 Tout Public

DELF (Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française) The Tout Public are official diplomas issued by the French Ministry of National Education. They allow you to validate and certify your command of French. Therefore, these diplomas allow you to improve your French skills for personal, school, university or professional purposes.

Please note that DELF Tout Public is intended more for an adult audience. For children, there is the DELF Prim and for adolescents, the DELF Junior and the DELF for schools. There is also a DELF professional option for: the  DELF Pro  whose topics are those of the business world.

DELF All public

The DELF Tout Public  consists of 4 independent diplomas that correspond to four levels of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)   level A1 , level A2 , level B1 and level B2 . Level A1 is the most accessible level and level B2 is the highest DELF level . Above, is the DALF ( Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française ) with 2 additional levels: C1 and C2.

Study evaluation

DELF A1 assesses the knowledge of beginners, providing a means of validation. The student is able to interact in a simple way with others: can answer simple questions about himself, where he lives, people he knows and his possessions and can also ask questions about them. You can make simple statements on topics that are familiar or of particular interest to you, and you can respond spontaneously. This level of proficiency is typically achieved in 60 hours.

In relation to all of the above, it must be taken into account that from 2020, a new exam format appears. It involves changes to the Tout Public listening and writing tests . However, for three years, that is, for the years 2020, 2021 and 2022, the old and new formats will coexist. This means that during these three years, on the day of your exam, your subject will correspond to the old format or the new format. Therefore, it is important to prepare for both exam formats.
