This is achieved by taking an Anglia test at the end of each academic year so that the student has the necessary certifications when they need to make a decision. In this way, continuity and self-confidence are fostered and in turn, regardless of when they stop studying, they will always have tangible evidence of the level reached.

How is the English exam Anglia International Teachers Certificates - Cite very young learners, levels B1, B2

CITE is the Anglia Exams Certificate for International Teachers of English . It is designed to provide competent English teachers, who may or may not have other English teaching qualifications, the opportunity to gain international recognition for their language skills, knowledge and experience.

CITAR works on the same principle as any other special purpose English test: the special purpose in this case is teaching English.

There are no entry qualifications for the CITE test. Although you may have previous qualifications in English, none are required. The test is not itself a teaching qualification, but recognition of your proficiency in the relevant English language skills necessary for teaching. Therefore, it can be taken by teachers who are currently teaching English, or students who plan to do so, and who have acquired knowledge of the language and practice in the classroom through study.

The CITE test recognizes that teaching young students and teaching higher-level and older students may require different levels of language, theory, and practice. For this reason, candidates are offered two versions of the test: CITE (Young Learners) and CITE (General Training) . An examination of the sample documents should help a candidate or their representative decide which is the most appropriate. Elementary school teachers are not required to take the Young Learner version, but the opportunity is available.

If you think you have the level required to be a competent teacher in your teaching situation, you are probably at the right level for the CITE test. For the CITE (VYL), your level of English is probably A2 - B1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. In the Anglia Examinations general English exam set, this means that you will be at the Elementary - Intermediate level. It is not easy to relate the required level to any General English test, however, the required English in the CITE test is also related to knowledge of English grammatical terms and functions, along with the English classroom language.
