What are the Trinity levels?

Well to know what your level is, or to know the possibilities of maintaining a complete study of the Trinity levels, many readers ask us what and how many are the levels of the Trinity exams. In this article we answer this question and accompany it with a summary of the objectives of each level.

Trinity level 6 (B1.2)

−− Make a sequence of events clear by referring to previous and future events

−−Answer questions about the prepared topic and participate in an informal discussion about it by responding to requests for more information, facts or details

−−Provide information and express opinions when necessary

−−Begin to play a limited part in initiating and sustaining the conversation.

Trinity level 7 (B2.1)

Communication objectives

−−Demonstrate understanding by responding to the examiner's conversation in an adequate way

−−Communicate a variety of facts, ideas and opinions, and account for these in a topic previously chosen and connected through a series of long turns

−− Get involved in the discussion of said topic

−−Handling interruptions or requests for clarification

−−Collaborate with the discussion by giving rise to comments

−−Sharing responsibility for maintaining interaction

−−In case of communication failures, demonstrate awareness of it and carry out the basic steps to remedy it

Trinity level 8 (B2.2)

Communication objectives

−− Express facts, ideas, opinions and explain points of view on a topic previously chosen and connected through a series of long shifts

−−Maintain coherence and cohesion in the organization of discourse

−− Respond to requests for more information, clarifications and explanations

−−Take control of the interaction

−− Encourage the conversation by giving rise to comments and opinions from the interlocutor

−−Turn in the conversation, yield the turn and offer it when appropriate

−−Follow up comments to develop the conversation

−−In case of communication failures, do whatever is necessary to repair them

Trinity level 9 (B2.3)

Communication objectives

−− Express facts, ideas, opinions and attitudes about a previously chosen topic and sustain that topic over a series of extended turns

−−Maintain coherence and cohesion throughout the phase by organizing the discourse −−Paraphrase when necessary to maintain the discourse

−− Involve the examiner in the discussion of the topic

−−Take control of the interaction

−− Maintain the speech asking for information and elaborating on the answers obtained

−−Turn, hold, yield, and offer when appropriate

−−In case of a communication failure, use Trinity paraphrases and circumlocutions.

Trinity level 10 (C1.1)

Communication objectives

−−Make, on a topic to choose, a formal presentation, of a discursive nature and with an identifiable structure and sequence, for this, using discursive connectors and cohesive resources

−− Make an introduction to the presentation, develop specific points, give reasons and examples that support them

−−Start a debate on some of the points mentioned and involve the interlocutor

−− Share with the interlocutor the responsibility of maintaining the debate

−− Respond to requests for clarification and / or development

−−Defend a point of view and develop reasoning

−−Be responsible for the course and continuity of the interaction
