What are the Anglia exams?
The Anglia exams -Anglia Examinations- are other options you have to obtain an official English certificate. Anglia is an internationally recognised educational nonprofit association which is dependant on the Ministry of Education of the United Kingdom, and they offer an integral and structured evaluation system of English language skills.

Anglia offer an integral and structured evaluation system of English skills, covering all levels from initiation to expertise. The main focus of these exams is to help the student gradually achieve the desired English level. These exams evaluate the basic linguistic skills (Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing).

âž•What levels do the Anglia exams certify?
They are organised in 3 groups; each with different levels, abilities and guidelines to follow. We will later specify the respective guidelines.
Young Learners Levels, initiation levels for minors. First Step, Junior, Primary and Preliminary.
General Intermediate Levels, intermediate levels for adults. Elementary, Pre-Intermediate and Intermediate.
Higher Levels, the highest levels. Advanced, ACCEPT Proficiency and Masters.
Business Levels, the student acquires the same knowledge as in the general levels but with vocabulary related to the business sector.
âž•How long do the English Anglia exams last for?
Reading comprehension and Writing expression exam: 1 hour minimum and 3 hours maximum duration, depending on the level.
Listening comprehension exam: Between 10 and 30 minutes duration, depending on the level.
Oral expression exam: Between 5 and 20 minutes (approximately) duration.
âž•What advantages does it have?
Anglia Examinations is a group of exams recognised by the British Council.
Anyone can complete the Anglia exam. They are designed for students of all ages (from 4 years onwards).
They offer a wide variety of exams, including oral exams for kids, general English exams in 10 levels, Business English exams for professionals and exams for English teachers. The exams for kids just evaluate the recognition and oral use of English.
They do not require additional classes, because the preparation required for the exams is integrated in the classroom curriculum.
There is no age limit for the candidates. You can join in the study level that you or your teacher consider appropriate.

Anglia offers an additional exam, which determines the level for your official exam.
Business Levels: the student acquires the same knowledge as in the general levels but with vocabulary related to the business sector.
The two advanced levels form part of the General English series. They are University/College Entry Qualifications, which allow any student whose mother tongue is not English to access any career or postgraduate in foreign universities. They possess international accreditation granted directly from the QCA (Qualifications and Curriculum Authority).
The Anglia exams are also supported by ASCENTIS (British University Educational Group), which is another aspect that contributes to its highly international prestige in the global framework.
