Linguaskill General - Completo (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1)

  • The Linguaskill test is an online test carried out by computer and is comprised of several parts, listening, reading and writing. In each test, you will answer questions on the screen. These can be in a variety of different types of questions.

    Reading assignments on the Linguaskill exam

    Read and select

    Candidates read a notice, diagram, label, memo, or letter containing short text and choose the sentence or phrase that most closely matches the meaning of the text. There are three possible answers.

    Blank sentences

    Candidates read a sentence with a missing word (space) and choose the correct word to fill in the space. There are four options for each space.

    Multiple Choice Gap Fill

    Candidates choose the correct word or phrase to fill in the gaps in a text. There are four options for each space.

    Open fill

    Candidates read a short text in which some words are missing (gaps) and write the missing word in each gap.

    Extended reading

    Candidates read a longer text and answer a series of multiple-choice questions. The questions are in the same order as the information in the text.

    Listen and select

    Candidates listen to a short audio recording and answer a multiple-choice question with three options.

    Extended listening

    Candidates listen to a longer recording and answer a series of multiple-choice questions based on it. The questions are in the same order as the information they hear on the recording.

     

    Writing tasks on your Linguaskill exam

    Part One

    Candidates read a short message, usually an email. They use the information in the message and the three points to write an email of at least 50 words to a private audience. Candidates should spend about 15 minutes on this.

    The second part

    Candidates read a short text describing a scenario and respond using the information from the scenario and the three dots. Candidates will write at least 180 words to a wider audience and may be asked to produce a variety of text types (eg review, article, web post). Candidates should spend about 30 minutes on this.

     

    Tasks of the spoken part in the Linguaskill exam

    Interview

    The candidate answers eight questions about him / her and his / their background / experience / future plans (for example, what is your job?). The first two questions are not marked.

    Read out loud

    The candidate is required to read eight sentences aloud.

    Long shift

    The candidate is given a topic (for example, practical skills) to speak for one minute. The candidate receives directions on the subject and 40 seconds to prepare.

    Long turn with visual information

    The candidate is given one or more graphics (eg diagrams, information sheet) to speak for one minute, in the form of leaving a voice message for a friend. The candidate also has one minute to prepare.

    Communicative activity

    The candidate gives his opinion on five questions related to a topic (for example, technology and the Internet). The candidate has one minute to prepare from the scenario and the prompts that the questions will be about.
