The LanguageCert International ESOL B2 exams assess the four language skills of candidates who wish to live, work or study in settings where English is the primary language of communication. The LanguageCert International ESOL B2 exams are the link to the C1 Expert level.

Listen to twice three conversations each with two speakers to identify: Topic, purpose, context, speakers, GIST, the relationship between speakers, roles, functions, attitudes, feelings and opinions

Part 3

7 questions

A message pad with a header and seven messages and space to write the correct information for each request. Answers are one to five words.

Listen twice to a radio broadcast, narrative, presentation, etc. to identify specific information

Part 4

6 questions

Six three-choice multiple-choice questions

Listen twice to a debate to define the essentials, examples, fact, opinion, contrast, purpose, key ideas, attitude, cause and effect

Choice of seven sentences to choose from to fill in the six gaps. A prayer is provided as a distraction.

A text with six sentences removed, for example, topic sentence, short sentence, develop idea, emphasize a point, opinion, contrast, sequence, reference back and forth, transition to a new idea

Part 3

7 questions

Seven questions to indicate which text provides the answer to each question

Four texts, for example, email, article, advertisement, brochure, etc. with a linked topic, but with a different purpose

Part 4

7 questions

Seven open 'wh-' questions requiring short answers of up to five words

A continuous text: narrative, descriptive, explanatory, expository, biographical, instructive.
