DELF B1 Tout Public

At this level, the user already becomes independent. Now you can continue an interaction: you can understand and continue a discussion, give your opinion. Is able to cope with unforeseen situations in everyday life.

Please note that the DELF B1 is required to obtain French nationality. It is also necessary to validate certain diplomas. For example, this is the case for the AUF (Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie) and PFIEV (Training Program for Excellence Engineers in Vietnam) diplomas.

The DELF B1 Tout Public is based on level B1 of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Common Languages).

Characteristics

The DELF , Diplôme d'études en langue française (Diploma of Studies in the French Language), is the official international certification issued by the Ministry of National Education of France, to accredit the French skills of foreign candidates.

There is an undeniable qualitative and quantitative leap between the DELF A2 level and the DELF B1 level (which corresponds to a total of 400 hours of learning) that validates a level of competence that already rests with the independent user. Corresponds to the Threshold Level specifications.

Two features characterize it particularly. The first is the ability to continue an interaction and get what you want in different situations, for example: following the main points of a fairly long discussion about yourself, giving or asking for opinions and ideas in an informal discussion with friends, passing an opinion main, continue a conversation or discussion.

The second trait is the ability to deftly cope with the problems of everyday life, for example: cope with an unforeseen situation on public transport; deal with most of what can happen when planning a trip; intervene unprepared in conversations about familiar topics; make a claim; take initiatives during an interview or consultation; Ask someone to clarify what you just said.

Old format exams

Keep in mind that from 2020, a new exam format appears. It involves changes in the DELF B1 Tout Public listening and writing tests . However, for three years, that is, for the years 2020, 2021 and 2022 , the old and new formats will coexist. This means that during these three years, on the day of your exam, your subject will correspond to the old format or the new format. Therefore, it is important to prepare for both exam formats.
