Faq. Exámenes ielts

Oral expression of the ielts exam (ielts speaking)

Oral expression

Duration

11-14 minutes

Exam parts

 It consists of 3 parts.

First part: presentation and interview (4-5 minutes)

The examiner will introduce himself and ask you to introduce yourself and confirm your identity. The examiner will ask you general questions about familiar topics, such as home, family, work, studies, and hobbies.

Second part: individual long shift (3-4 minutes)

The examiner will give you an assignment card where you will be asked to speak on a specific topic and which includes points that you can cover in your talk. You will have one minute to prepare your talk and you will receive a pencil and paper to take notes. You will talk about it for a minute or two. The examiner will then ask you a question or two on the same topic.

 Third part: dialogue (4-5 minutes)

The examiner will ask you more questions related to the topic of the second part. These questions will offer you an opportunity to discuss more abstract topics and ideas.
