¿Qué son los exámenes CNaVT?
People learn Dutch for a variety of reasons. For example to study, live or work in a Dutch-speaking environment. For this reason the CNaVT develops five exams every year. The exams serve different purposes and are related to different levels of language proficiency in the CEFR. The CNaVT certifies language proficiency of Dutch as a foreign language worldwide, using task based and domain specific exams related to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The CNaVT is a project commissioned by the Dutch Language Union and the exams are developed by the Centre for Language and Education at the university of Leuven. The CNaVT exams are organized all around the world for (young) adults who want to prove their language proficiency in Dutch with an internationally recognized certificate.

Civic Intergration and Naturalisation Test
On obtaining the Dutch as a Foreign Language Certificate one can be granted an exemption for the 'Dutch' test part of the Dutch civic integration examination for public and government jobs and projects.
The certificate is widely recognised as proof of ability in Dutch in the Netherlands and Belgium and is useful for immigration, work and admission to educational institutions.
Most Flemish and Dutch colleges and universities recognize the certificates Educational Starting Competence (STRT) (B2 level of the CEFR) and Educational Professional (EDUP)(C1 level of the CEFR) as proof of sufficient language skills to start a study.
In the Netherlands and Flanders, colleges and universities themselves decide which diplomas and certificates they recognize. Educational institutions can even decide to recognize the CNaVT certificates only for a specific study program. So be sure to contact the college or university where you want to take classes and ask which CNaVT certificates are recognized. Below you will find a list of educational institutions that accept CNaVT certificates. If you have any problems with this, you can always contact us .

➕¿Qué vigencia tienen los resultados?
The CNaVT certificates have no validity period. A certificate only confirms that a candidate has reached a certain level at the time the exam is taken. However, host institutions (universities, colleges, employers) sometimes require a certificate to be no older than, say, two years. Be sure to contact the host institution and ask what requirements are set for a specific study program or position.
If, after obtaining the certificate, you have still been involved with Dutch on a daily basis, for example through education or work, you should not fail to mention this useful experience and to demonstrate it by means of documents when registering or applying.
