Goethe-Institut offer 6 different exams, following the requirements established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The exams are formed by levels that range from A1 (for starters) to C2.
Goethe-Zertifikat A1: There are two existing versions of this exam. Both exams accredit the basic knowledge of German language, and they correspond to the A1 level of the CEFR.
Fit in Deutsch 1 is an exam designed for kids and teenagers who are between 10 and 16 years old.
Start Deutsch 1 is an exam designed for adults.
Goethe-Zertifikat A2: There are also two versions of this exam. The test accredits your German linguistic skills and it corresponds to the A2 level.
Fit in Deutsch is a German exam designed for teenagers between 12 and 16 years of age.

Goethe-Zertifikat B1 is a German exam for young people and adults. It accredits the autonomous use of German and it corresponds to the B1 level. The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Goethe-Zertifikat C1 is a German exam for adults. It accredits a very advanced level of German and it corresponds to the C1 level of The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Goethe-Zertifikat C2: Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom (GDS) is a German exam designed for adults. It accredits the highest achievable German level and it corresponds to the C2 level (the highest one).
