Oxford exams

The Oxford English Exam is an exam of general English competence adapted to the current technology. Developed by Oxford University Press and certified by Oxford University, it is more flexible, profitable and faster than many other traditional tests. It is recognised by many educational authorities.

What knowledge and skills does the English Oxford exam assess?

The Oxford English exams evaluate the English linguistic skills which are required for understanding and communicating in an effective way in English. They consist of the three CEFR levels: A2, B1 and B2.

In general terms, the Oxford English exams will evaluate the candidate's capacity for using daily English in real life situations, not only in social contexts, but in the academic and workforce sectors.

The test covers the following four abilities: speaking, listening, reading and writing. The reading and listening sessions are flexible, which means that the difficulty level of the questions are based on the person's answer. This makes the exam more motivating, short and it offers a more accurate evaluation than older skill tests.

What types of exams are there and what are they divided into?

It is a unique test for all candidates, in other words, a unique model of exam for all levels. It consists of four parts. Each part corresponds to the basic linguistic skills.

Reading comprehension (Reading),

Listening comprehension (Listening),

Oral expression (Speaking) and

Writing expression (Writing).

This exam certifies your English level in the four main linguistic skills (reading, writing, oral expression and listening comprehension).

The student does not have to be examined in all the four skills in the same session.

The language used in daily life and social, workforce and academic contexts is examined. This leads to an evaluation of your real level.

With a single exam the A2, B1 and B2 levels are certified, following the requirements established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The exam certifies and evaluates your English and learning level.

There are many examination centres in Spain.

The results, which are certified by Oxford University, are available approximately 14 days after the exam has been completed. The results are sent in a clear report, which shows the achieved level in each skill.

There are no exact exam dates, each date is specified by the examination centre.

All tests are different. Firstly, the student will answer all the questions, and later, an algorythm will evaluate the student's answers, adapting to his/her level.
